Treatment plan for James C.

Dear James C., thank you for the photographs and the panoramic X-ray you sent. I have gone through them with my prosthodontist colleague and written down below what we would suggest, in two versions. The first one gives you a fixed upper jaw in two trips; the second keeps more of your own teeth but needs more appointments. On your upper jaw the crowns on your two front teeth (11 and 21) are loose and the root under one of them is fractured, so they cannot be kept. Five back teeth on that jaw are already missing, and two more (17 and 26) move when pressed because the bone around them has receded. On the lower jaw one molar (36) has deep decay that has reached the nerve, and one molar (46) is missing. Everything else is healthy. In short: the upper jaw needs a new, fixed set of teeth, and on the lower jaw two individual teeth need attention.
